Xel-Ha has achieved the prestigious Green Globe Certified Silver status, which recognizes the park´s commitment of operating at the world’s highest environmental standard.

The successful completion of the Certification process demonstrates Xel-Ha’s strong dedication to the principles of environmental sustainability. This is an outstanding achievement for Xel-Ha, as the first natural park in the world to attain such certification.

In addition to having a Sustainability Policy in place, all fourteen assessed Earthcheck indicators are above the Baseline level, which is an accomplishment to be very highly commended.

Green Globe is the worldwide Benchmarking, Certification and performance improvement system assisting the travel and tourism industry to attain sustainability, whose certification system responds directly to the major environmental problems facing the planet, including climate change, waste reduction and non-renewable resource management.

Through a variety of initiatives, the Natural Wonder Xel-Ha has demonstrated that their business and their employees can make a difference regarding the environmental impact and set an example for other businesses to follow.
