If one wishes to reach the beginning of Xel-Ha’s River from the main service area, it is difficult to find a more charismatic approach. A five-minute walk will take visitors from the service area to a small thatch-roofed bus depot, to which a small thatch-roofed bus arrives every few minutes. These vehicles are not only feats of engineering, but works of art as well. Surely no one has every traveled in such a colourful frame before.

The Jungle Train runs both ways, from the depot to the river and back, in brief minutes. It is the fastest, most refreshing, and relaxed way to reach the River, if one wishes to save strengths. Also, it can be useful for visitors approaching the River from the trail through the cenotes as a quicker and less tiring resort on their way back to the main service area.
