Xel-Ha houses over 270 species of plants, many of which are endangered by the constant clearing of forests for urban development and overexploitation for the valuable resources they represent. Xel-Ha has strict relocation policies for any vegetation removed to make way for facilities, and environmental impact is carefully gauged to preserve our Natural Wonder for many future generations.

The Plant Nursery is an open-air botanical garden in which an enormous variety of exotic and indigenous vegetation is tended to. Once a certain plant reaches a competitive size, it is relocated within the vast jungle areas of Xel-Ha. A free guided tour of the Nursery leaves everyday from the Information Module near the Inlet.
