The Riviera Maya boasts one of the most beautiful stretches of beach in the world, and Xel-Ha is no exception. Near the entrance to Xel-Ha lies an eastward path, past the Black Lagoon, which eventually leads to the powdery white sands and crisp lapping of the seashore. Hammocks and deckchairs are spread about this area for comfort and relaxation with a supreme view.

Moreover, Xel-Ha’s beach is enormously significant for another reason –it represents one of the most important nesting areas in the region for loggerheads and green sea turtles, two species in grave danger of extinction. Xel-Ha protects an annual average of 35,000 eggs, and releases more than 20,000 hatchlings a year.
